Online Dream Group is Open

One of the unique offerings Chiron Art Therapy offers is online art therapy dream groups.  Working with dreams is often done individually for depth work.  However, art therapy adapts well to groups and groups can be a more affordable way to do online dream work.  Therefore, that’s why Maggi, a dream pattern analyst, training candidate at the Jung Institute in Zurich, and board certified art therapist is offering an online dream group.

What people said about previous dream art therapy groups:

“I learned things about myself I never expected.”

“The group was really fun and interesting.  I liked marking art and I’ve always been interested in dreams.”

“I’ve always had this reoccurring dream.  I never knew what it meant though.  I’m so glad I decided to work with my dreams more. What a fascinating process!”

What is Group Therapy?

Group therapy provides psychotherapy and counseling focusing on interpersonal dynamics and group support. Members can find help with numerous concerns including anxiety, depression, a need for increased self-esteem, and a sense of belonging or meaning in life. Members learn from each other in a setting facilitated by a master’s level, nationally credentialed art therapist, and dream pattern analyst.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy uses art materials and the creative process for individuals to gain personal insight, behavioral change, and increase overall well-being. Art therapy can only be implemented by a licensed art therapist to ensure proper care for each person engaging in therapy.

What is Dream Analysis?

Dream analysis engages imagery and symbolism from dreams for personal insight and personal development. Dreams also speak in images, that according to Carl Jung, are the primordial language of the soul. Furthermore, through the engagement of dreams, individuals find ways to develop and manifest goals, unearth talents, and develop skills that can contribute to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.  If you want to learn more about dreams here or you can also check out my other blogs on dreams here, about nightmares here, or about starting a dream journal.

The group will cover:

  1. Create a weekly dream journal including written dream documenting and sketches or illustrations.
  2. Define parts of dream according to Carl Jung: exposition, development, crisis, and lysis.
  3. Identify ongoing dream themes.
  4. Engage in art therapy process for insight using dream symbolism and imagery.
  5. Explore Jungian concepts including the shadow, the anima/animus, and the psyche.
  6. Engage in group art therapy improving interpersonal dynamics and personal insight.

Why join

Work on you this year.  2020 was uber stressful.  It’s time to set aside some self-care time and dive in. Groups offer a cost-effective way to do therapy that is way below the cost of individual dream analysis.  Furthermore, what could be more fun than being creative while getting support from a like-minded community?

We can’t be together right now, but on the other hand, the world has gotten a lot smaller.  You don’t have to be in a big metropolitan area to join this group.  All you need to access to computer or phone, the internet, and the Zoom app!

Dreams will Show You the Way

Dreamwork is sometimes challenging but can be oh so satisfying.  If you want 2021 to be the year, a dream group might shine some light on what your dreams are telling you.  Dreams can help you heal from the past and plan for the future.  Dreams point toward the path that will bring you fulfillment, but you need to understand the symbolic language of images.  Time to carpe that diem!
